"The learning process is one of slow engagement with ideas; gradually the engagement builds to a critical mass when the student actually acquires the idea. Repetition matters because it can hasten and deepen the engagement process. If one cares about quality of learning, one should consciously design repetitive engagement into courses and daily teaching."

Bruner, Robert F., Repetition is the First Principle of All Learning

Or to state another way, practise makes perfect.

For kids and math this is never more true than in their early years. Kids perfect their math skills through repetition. Mathspert is based on this simple and obvious fact. Our goals are:

  1. to provide children with a tool that they will find fun and easy to use.
  2. to provide parents with a cost effective approach that empowers them to help their kids.
Since going on air in November 2008 Mathspert has focused on these simple goals. Our small team of technologists and teaching professionals have a developed a product that is intuitive and rewarding for a child to use. It’s a back to basics approach, we don’t try and compete with the game console in the corner so there are no animated characters and flashy graphics. They did not work for our kids, I would guess that they don’t work for many of yours. As our user base grows we are thrilled to see kids from all backgrounds and ages benefit from Mathspert. We are committed to continually improve the site and provide greater value to all our users. We welcome all comments and suggestions.
